South Bristol Youth have been a fantastic partner in our community woodland project. Their strong presence and trusted relationships within Bristol schools have made them an invaluable connector. Working with them has enabled us to engage with schools and students we would have struggled to reach on our own. The trust and confidence that students have in South Bristol Youth also means our sessions are more impactful—students feel safe and supported, which makes them more willing to step outside their comfort zones and try new things.

We’ve also really enjoyed working with South Bristol Youth colleagues to develop new resources and activities for our sessions. Together, we’ve woven the communication and career skills aims of the South Bristol Youth programmes into our woodland activities. This has been extremely valuable, as it ensures students gain something personally meaningful from each session. Their expert understanding of students’ needs and their openness to collaboration and innovation has made this possible.’ Westonbirt

The essence of the charity

SBY has been successful because of its many partners, and it is these partnerships that are the essence of the charity. We understand that young people’s education needs to involve all members of the local and wider community. These include local businesses, cultural organisations, and the many heritage icons in the region, alongside families and schools.
