Green Futures

The Green Futures programme is funded by the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority (WEMCA) as part of their Green Futures Project Green Futures Project – West of England Combined Authority. This year the programme will serve 180 young people across 12 schools in Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, and South Gloucestershire. Activities include skills building, workplace visits and employer interactions, and a university campus visit – all with a focus on green skills, jobs and industries.

Green Jobs - A definition

“A job which will directly contribute towards the reduction of emissions and help to protect the environment.”

  • Personality Profiling Workshop
  • Green Industries Day
  • Work Experience Project Day
  • Environmental Day
  • University Campus Visit and Careers Fair

 

For the Parents & Carers:

There will be several events during the programme for parents and carers to catch up on their child’s progress. These will include:

  • Parent/Carer Introduction
  • Parent/Carer Information Event
  • Celebration Event
  • Green Newsletter
  • Green Careers Fair

Our Parent/Carer Information Event

The event brings students and their families together to share information about the programme.

It will include information about:

  • Current & future green jobs
  • Local labour market and apprenticeships
  • Relevant courses from post-16 & post-18 providers.
