Thrive Outside engages participants in practical educational activities in settings outside of the classroom, allowing them  to experience success, to build their confidence and resilience, and to develop their sense of belonging and self-esteem.

Supporting emotional intelligence is central to the programme; participants are encouraged to discuss their feelings through wellbeing check-ins at the start and end of every activity, and staff provide support and mentoring catered both to individual needs, and to those of the cohort.

Activities include:

  • Avon Needs Trees
  • Belmont Estate
  • BMX Biking at Hartcliffe Pump Track
  • Bristol Zoo Project
  • Community Gardens
  • Mojo Active
  • Redcatch Community Gardens

Parent feedback

“[student] came home absolutely buzzing today which is great to see…. It’s nice that she is enjoying something in school as she has been asking to be home schooled since the summer. She is definitely going to benefit from the programme, I’m glad she wanted to do it.” – Parent Feedback
