A degree apprenticeship is an apprenticeship that leads to a full degree-level qualification (Bachelor’s or master’s degree, or an equivalent professional qualification). An apprentice will spend 80% of their time on the job training and 20% off the job with a training provider. They take around 2-6 years to complete depending on the level. There are no student fees for apprentices, and they will also receive a salary from their employer and the usual allowances (holiday pay, sick leave etc).

To find a degree apprenticeship www.gov.uk/apply-apprenticeship is a great place to start. You can filter down for your interests, level of apprenticeship, and area you prefer to work in. You apply for an apprenticeship through an employer, and they will organise a suitable training provider.

Degree-level apprenticeships are relatively new, but the variety is ever-expanding. If you are the type of person who prefers to learn on the job and gain valuable experience whilst being paid then maybe an apprenticeship might be for you.
